BBQ Pork Bliss
Makes: ± 600ml Oven: 180 °C / 350 °F
Preparation Time: 2 hours 40 minutes Grilling Time: 1 hour 30 minutes – 2 hours
Ingredients
| 125 | ml | Apple cider vinegar (½ Cup) |
| 335 | g | Tomato sauce |
| 110 | ml | Brown sugar |
| 15 | ml | Worcestershire sauce (1 Tbsp) |
| 10 | ml | Dijon mustard (2 tsp) |
| 2 | ml | Black pepper (½ tsp) |
| 5 | ml | Cayenne pepper (1 tsp) |
| 10 | ml | Onion powder (2 tsp) |
| 2 | Garlic cloves, minced | |
| 300 | ml | Water |
| 15 | ml | Bovril (1 Tbsp) |
| 900 | g | Pork ribs |
Method
- In a bowl, combine all the ingredients, except the Bovril, and mix until well combined.
- Pour the sauce into a pan and over medium heat, bring to a boil for 5 minutes, while stirring.
- To thicken the sauce, over the pot with a lid and lower the heat. add the Bovril and allow the sauce to simmer for a further 10 – 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the pot from the heat and allow to cool, for at least 15 minutes.
- Place the pork ribs in the sauce, making sure all the ribs are evenly coated. Place the ribs in a roasting pan and pour the remaining sauce over the meat. Cover the pan with aluminium foil.
- Roast in a preheated oven at 180 °C / 350 °F for 1.5 – 2 hours, turning the ribs and basting them every 30 minutes. With the remaining 5 minutes, set the oven to grill to get a golden-brown finish and serve.
